Celebrating 70 combined years at DEIF
This year, DEIF marks two significant career milestones: 40 years with Toke Foss, Chair and owner, and 30 years with Christian Nielsen, Group CEO. Together, their anniversaries represent 70 years of dedication to DEIF and its development.
Although their journeys began ten years apart, both have played important roles in shaping the company. From family ownership and long-term leadership to technology, international business and organizational development, their careers reflect both continuity and change at DEIF.
Four decades of leadership and long-term perspective
Toke Foss took over the ownership of DEIF after his father Erling Foss in 1982 and became CEO, a role he held until 2021.
During his time as CEO, DEIF expanded its technologies, markets and international presence. The company entered the marine and wind energy markets and established subsidiaries across several regions of the world. Family ownership and a long-term approach to developing the business remained central throughout this journey.
In 2021, Toke Foss became Chair of the Board, and he remains closely involved in DEIF’s strategic direction, with a continued focus on the company’s values and long-term development

From development engineer to Group CEO
Christian Nielsen joined DEIF as a development engineer in 1996. Over the following 25 years, he held roles within research and development, product management, business development, division management and global sales. His career also included responsibility for DEIF’s wind activities in China before he became Senior Vice President for Sales & Business.
In 2021, he succeeded Toke Foss as Group CEO. His extensive experience across the organization provided both broad insight into DEIF and continuity in the company’s leadership.

Continuity with a clear view of the future
Today, Toke Foss and Christian Nielsen continue their collaboration as Chair of the Board and Group CEO. Their roles combine a long-term ownership perspective with responsibility for DEIF’s daily leadership and continued development.
During their combined 70 years with the company, DEIF has developed from a Danish electronics manufacturer into an international supplier of energy control and management solutions for energy and marine applications.
The two anniversaries recognize two individual career journeys, but they also reflect the continuity behind DEIF’s development. Building on the company’s history, values and experience, Toke Foss and Christian Nielsen remain closely involved in shaping its future.
