The SGC 320 Mk II is a controller for protection, monitoring and control of single genset applications. Based on the proven SGC 420 Mk II platform, it provides comprehensive genset and mains breaker control, advanced monitoring capabilities and flexible configuration options in a streamlined hardware design. Operators can monitor system performance, manage alarms and configure parameters directly from the controller or through Smart Connect Mk II software.
Monitor and control your genset installation from a single platform
The SGC 320 Mk II brings together the functions required to monitor, protect and control a genset installation in one controller. Electrical parameters such as voltage, frequency, current and power factors are continuously supervised alongside critical engine values including temperature, oil pressure and fuel level. The graphical display provides a clear overview of system status, alarms and operating conditions, making day-to-day operation straightforward for both operators and service personnel.
The controller supports control of both genset and mains breakers and includes functions for applications such as Automatic Mains Failure (AMF), cyclic operation, remote start/stop and auto exercise.
Adapt the controller to your application
No two installations are exactly alike. With integrated M-Logic functionality and analogue comparator features, the SGC 320 Mk II allows users to create customized alarms, control functions and application-specific logic without additional hardware.
The controller also supports multiple configuration profiles, giving system integrators and OEMs flexibility when working across different projects, requirements and operating conditions.
Gain visibility into system performance
The SGC 320 Mk II gives operators access to key operating data through a graphical display, event logging and live monitoring capabilities. System measurements, alarms and status information are presented in a clear format, helping simplify operation, troubleshooting and maintenance activities. Multiple language options and configurable user access levels add further flexibility across different installations and user groups.
CAN J1939 Configurator – Flexible Engine Integration
Simplify engine integration. Adapt to your application.
The DEIF CAN J1939 Configurator gives OEMs and engine manufacturers greater flexibility when integrating custom or new engine ECUs with the SGC controller. Integrated into Smart Connect MK II, it allows users to configure J1939 transmit and receive messages, map engine signals, define data scaling and implement CAN-related logic directly within the configuration tool – without requiring a new controller firmware release for every protocol adjustment.
Whether working with a new engine or adapting an existing supported protocol, the configurator helps streamline integration and validation. Configurable message parameters, reusable signal scaling, logic and comparator functions, and support for J1939 engine indicators and emissions-related warnings provide the flexibility to tailor communication to specific engine requirements.
The advantage: Reduce dependency on firmware changes during engine integration, simplify protocol adaptation, and accelerate development iterations – helping OEMs bring engine-controller combinations to market more efficiently.
CAN Logger – Simplified CAN Diagnostics
Capture communication. Diagnose faster. Resolve issues with confidence.
The DEIF CAN Logger is a built-in SGC firmware feature that captures transmitted and received CAN/J1939 communication through a USB connection to a PC running Smart Connect MK II. It provides a practical way to obtain detailed CAN trace files for engine integration, commissioning and field troubleshooting – without requiring a separate CAN logging device.
Designed to support faster root-cause analysis, the CAN Logger enables engineers to start, pause, and resume logging as needed, while automatic recovery of the trace timeline supports continuity if the controller disconnects and reconnects during a logging session. The resulting trace file uses a plain-text (.trc) format that can be inspected directly in a text editor, including Notepad, or analyzed using compatible CAN trace tools.
The advantage: Reduce diagnostic setup requirements, simplify access to CAN communication data, and support more efficient troubleshooting in the field. By integrating logging into the controller and its configuration environment, DEIF helps engineers investigate communication issues with fewer additional tools and less complexity.
